Can I get hurt?

Yes.

Pickleball is a sport, and with all sport there are risks.

We play with a hard hollow ball, if it hits you it can hurt.

Eye protection is highly recommended.

Court shoes are the other piece of equipment you will require to give your ankles the support they require.

We do not run backwards due to the risk of falling over or running in to a wall.

No equipment or bags are left at the ends of the courts, as this is an area that we use to play.

Please do remember, if you get hurt, there is no crying in Pickleball.

Do I need loads of expensive equipment?

No. As a club we provide the basic equipment.

You can just turn up in your sports wear. We can provide you with a paddle and ball.

Eye protection is highly recommended.

Court shoes are the other piece of equipment we recommend to give your ankles the support they require.

Once you have played and realised that you are having fun you can buy your own paddle. These can be anything between £15 and £300. My first paddle was £35.

We recommend the Pickleball Store for all your needs.

Can I just turn up?

We prefer you to get in touch so we can book you in. This way we can ensure there is space on the day you want and also a coach that can go through the rules with you.

If you do just turn up be prepared to be turned away. We will only do this if we are all ready full and there is no coach available.

Please do remember, if you get turned away on the day, there is no crying in Pickleball.

Is it expensive?
